How the LWP Vehicle Directory makes fleet management and maintenance easier.

“Where’s my vehicle? What condition is it in? What defects did it have? How much has it cost me in the last year? And how much money did it make me?” These are just some of the questions the LWP (Logistic Web Portal) Vehicle File can answer. This information system is a comprehensive record of rail freight, traction, and passenger vehicles along with support for leasing, service and maintenance. It plays a role in the workflow of vehicle owners; concurrently, it also forms part of the solution for rail operators.
So, whatever way you look at the vehicle, the LWP Vehicle File will provide a place to store and retrieve all necessary data documents and carry out vehicle related tasks. Recording and keeping track of revisions will ensure that the vehicle does not stand still due to a failed inspection. If you rent or lease vehicles, you will get a powerful tool that allows you to calculate amounts and prepare them in the form of an accounting document. The agenda also includes a clear record of companies and contracts. It is possible to register equipment (superstructures, chassis, wheelsets, etc.) on vehicles that have the same set of functions as the vehicles. In addition, it is possible to track when each device has been on the vehicle and whether it was removed, stored, or replaced by another on a certain date.
Vehicle performance tracking is also helpful. From vehicle events that can be received from various sources (tracking units, data on running of own trains from our Dispatching tool, import from CEVIS/EROZA from ČD Cargo), the system can calculate mileage. These can then be downloaded for reporting (e.g. for GCU). Records of gauge balances, refuelling and other armaments including costs can be used.
A separate chapter is dedicated to service and maintenance. The system can create a damage report (WDR) from the fault records. A repair module is available for fault resolution. It is possible to record the progress of individual fault resolution, associated material and labour costs, and the costs incurred can be attached to an accounting document.
Since no software can do without communication with its environment, the LWP Vehicle File has a number of interfaces in the form of imports, exports or web services that allow easy integration into the existing systems of the vehicle holder.
The LWP Vehicle File has already proven its reliability in practice. Last year, we successfully implemented it, for example, at Express Group where it was linked to the economic system, and we also integrated it into the carrier system at DB Cargo Czechia. Long-term users also include major companies such as ČD Cargo, PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL, BUDAMAR LOGISTICS and NH – TRANS, SE.
Thanks to its wide usability and ability to adapt to the specific needs of different carriers, the LWP Vehicle File has become a reliable tool for fleet management.
